Client Reviews

Jaxon

“Melissa is the most amazing trainer I have met. My husband and I have owned dogs for over 40 years and have been to several different training classes and have used various trainers over the years. Therefore, I thought we knew enough to be able handle/train our latest set of dogs. Our current Labrador has made us realize how wrong this assumption was. Jaxon has high anxiety and doesn’t like to be touched. We adopted Jaxon at 1.5 years old and learned his previous owners had used shock collars as a training method which only heightened his anxiety. After working with Melissa over the last 2 years, we have gone from being afraid of Jaxon to understanding his needs/issues and enjoying his goofy personality. Melissa has taught us how to recognize and deal with those situations when Jaxon is feeling anxious. She has shown us and Jaxon how to approach desirable behaviors with baby steps and making it fun for Jaxon. Without Melissa, Jaxon would likely not be here today. Melissa is a joy to work with and I thank her for all of her help and support.”

“I have had the pleasure of knowing Melissa for several years. We have worked together with my own personal pets, several different patients, as well in different consulting roles during that time. She has an exceptional and broad wealth of knowledge and experience in veterinary behavioral science and is able to help translate that into appropriate and relatable working information and tools that a colleague or an owner are able to readily use. She is innovative and creative in finding solutions that work for the individual patient and their family, as well as helping to create life changing programs for service dog training. It is impressive to see in practice her integrity and genuine desire to help improve the quality of life of patients across the spectrum of behavioral needs, as well as instituting programs to improve cooperative care options, creating programs that provide solid, well trained service dogs. She has made significantly impact in the lives of my own pets, patients, and is helping our service dog charity establish positive reinforcement effective training protocols. “

Roth Dogs

“Melissa saved the day in this household! After becoming increasingly frustrated and terrified
about the escalating tension between the two dogs in my house—–I reached out to Melissa.
Words cannot express how grateful I am to her for saving these two dogs and getting them to a
place where we can all live content and happy daily. Three years ago—-I thought I was going to
have to give one, if not both dogs up……and then Melissa came in with her calm, truthful, and
positive attitude. My dogs have thrived under her care and I would recommend her services to
ANY person/family.”
