Initial Consult

This process involves delving into the motivations and factors contributing to the issues, culminating in the development of a personalized behavior modification plan.

This process involves delving into the motivations and factors contributing to the issues, culminating in the development of a personalized behavior modification plan.
Conducted at the client’s preferred location, typically their home, the consultation allows Melissa to observe the pet in its natural environment, with a specific focus on any problematic behavior that can be safely addressed. While the session may include the demonstration of pertinent behavior modification techniques, it’s crucial to emphasize that the primary focus is on discussing the pet’s history, recommended techniques, an estimated timeline for improvement, and a suggested follow-up schedule.
While there may be some skill training incorporated, the consultation allocates substantial time to thoroughly guide the family through the appropriate steps to initiate the behavior modification process. This ensures a well-rounded understanding of the strategies and insights needed to address and enhance the pet’s behavior effectively.
[/el_modal_popup]Follow-up Consult
Gradually introduce your pet to other animals, starting with calm and friendly individuals. We use barriers initially, allowing the animals to observe each other at a comfortable distance. Positive reinforcement techniques are used to reward calm and neutral behavior.During the Follow-Up Consultation, Melissa engages one-on-one with family members to actively implement the tailored training plan. Careful attention is given to consider the client’s abilities and comfort levels, ensuring a collaborative and effective training experience. Melissa adeptly teaches techniques through demonstrations, followed by clients mirroring the methods to promote hands-on learning.
While a brief portion of the session is dedicated to gathering updates on the pet’s behavior since the last visit, the primary focus is on practical, hands-on work. This may involve activities such as walking, navigating through the home, and simulated scenarios. The goal is to provide a dynamic and immersive experience that enhances the family’s ability to apply learned techniques in real-life situations.
Throughout the Follow-Up Consultation, Melissa remains committed to empowering the family with the skills and knowledge needed to foster continued improvement in their pet’s behavior. The session is structured to be engaging, interactive, and geared towards achieving sustained positive outcomes.
